EDM machines

Electrical discharge machining  is a machining method primarily designed for machining hard materials or those that would be very difficult to machine using traditional machining methods. The EDM wire erosion machine can be used to produce injection and compression moulds, profiles and more. The wire erosion machine enables mass production in the metal and plastic forming sector, and these processes are almost unimaginable without it.

Die-sinking EDM (Electric Discharge Machine) is a metal processing technology where an electrode erodes its shape into the workpiece. Die-sinking EDM machines are used to produce 3D shapes. A more important and widespread processing method is wire erosion (cutting). This way, even tall pieces can be processed accurately.

Drill machines are designed for shaping metal by drilling. EDM drill machines are one of the most important machines in the industry and are particularly suited for the production of large quantities of thin-sided parts. Thin materials are best suited for drill machines, as the workpieces are obtained by cutting and breaking the raw materials. EDM drill machines are very strong and robust industrial machines.

Wire EDM machines

Wire erosion is a metal processing technology where a wire (0.1 to 0.3 mm thick, usually brass) immersed in a dielectric fluid erodes hard, heat-treated workpieces. Wire erosion is carried out using wire erosion machines. A wire erosion machine is an industrial machine used for cutting very precise shapes and structures on metal plates.

In our offer you can find two manufacturers of wire EDM machines, Excetek and Fanuc. These wire erosion machines allow economical metal cutting for highly sensitive components. Excetek wire erosion machines offer solutions for larger workpieces and in our range you will find the Excetek V2000, the largest EDM wire erosion machine built for specific industrial solutions. The Fanuc wire EDM machine is the most represented machine on our market. Its versatility allows you to use it in different parts of production.

Die-sinking EDM machines:

The process of die-sinking EDM is simple and involves immersing the workpiece in a dielectric fluid (usually a dedicated oil). The electrode and workpiece are connected to a power source, which creates an electrical potential between them. When the electrode approaches the workpiece at a critical distance, a spark jumps between them, they both discharge and the spark causes microscopic cavitation on the workpiece – i.e. material removal.

Die-sinking EDM machines are used for machining all electrically conductive materials, for producing complex engravings and shapes, for machining hard materials, for producing tools, dies, etc., and for achieving high precision manufacturing. Our range of quality die-sinking EDM machines includes two manufacturers, Excetek and Zimmer & Kreim

Die-sinking EDM machines Zimmer & Kreim

Zimmer & Kreim die-sinking EDM machines are stable, precise and high quality machines that are easy to program and the process is error-free.

With the name “Genius”, Zimmer & Kreim machines demonstrate not only the intelligence of the machine control system, but also the stability of the underlying structure, high precision and charmingly simple programming.
